question for 5d & 24-70mm L owners

do you guys feel that 24mm is wide enough for the 5d.....The reason im asking is because im about to purchase the 17-40mm lens and plan to get the 5d next month....But i tend to shoot a lot of artists in studio environments and most times there is very low light.....My 24-70mm 2.8 handles it very well but i am cut short on width sometimes because of my 20d.....I think the 5d would solve that problem but i just need to be sure....thanks

oh sorry everyone but i just realized to try the 24-70mm with my elan 7ne......yup i think it will be the perfect width with the 5d......gave me about enough room i feel i need for those shots.....now i dont have to worry about buyin that 16-35mm 2.8....Its gonna save me some cash....thanks

Well, though you answered your own question, my answer would be that 24 is pretty wide on a 5D. Although I have a 16-35, I rarely use it, opting instead for the 24-70. I think that had I not already owned the 16-XX, I'd be pretty satisfied with 24 as my maximum width most of the time.

Way back in the film days, my widest lens was 28 mm so 24 could almost be considered a treat.
