for those you'll get MUCH better results shooting at least 1/100th. Like you said, there is a lot of suspension and rider movement...

I like shootin high shutter and place myself next next to a mud bog turn :)

I think its just resizing compression and the rooster tail kickin up. I went back into Canon DPP and looked up the specs - sharpening was 3/10 (not a lot) and saturation was bumped up 1/4 in the raw editor. Its 300mm 1/640 f8 iso 400 on a real real real bright day. It rained all night so the dirt (mud) was very rich colored.
