Dude, i'm disappointed. No 2.8?! Not worth it.

I am with the other Greg ...I want it in 2.8 ...it would only weigh 800-maybe 1000 pounds

I've heard they got a tripod collar that attaches to your car so that you can mount this thing on it. The collar itself only ways about 200lbs.

Anyone know the price?

i am sure they will, they have double rebate on the lens right now

how much is the double rebate?

bet it doesn't come with a case as standard like the Sigma 10-20

Article says the buyer wanted it for wildlife photography. I'm being serious (unlike most of this thread )

Remember that on the body it's built for (hasselblad) it's "only" about a 900mm 35mm lens equivlent. So it's not quite as insane as it sounds, just mostly.

With a 30D and Sigmonster you would probably get better wildlife photos then driving your 564lb lens around on the back of a Military Vehicle.

But then again, you're still a couple hundred MM's short and only f/5.6...Best off calling Zeiss.
