Do you use your highest resolution files...

When laying out your albums?? I typically make lower resolution jpegs (usually 1800 x 1800) for proofing and slideshows and cataloging. I typically work in high resolution for finishing such as a coffee table style book or album, but is it absolutely necessary? Pardon my naivete.

edit: I find myself asking because I'm reflecting on the present propensity to use more than what is needed to get the job done.

My album design software (PhotoJunction) makes low res proxies, then uses the high res images when generating the album.
