Wish I had seen this thread earlier!! I am a cemetery lover! And Toowong is my favourite in Qld, its amazing. Will have to head up there soon to get some more shots. I will keep an eye on this section now for more SEQ photo shoots!

Hi Anna.

It was my first time to the cemetery, and well... my first to any in QLD to be honest. (only been in AU for 4-5 years, and don't normally make it a habit of going to cemeteries). It definitely is a beautiful plot.

Great looking website too.

Hi All,
Welcome Anna.
From the quick look I've had it seems like you all had a good time the other day. I'll have to spend a little more time later looking at the other images. When I say time I mean time - I'm back on dialup and it s*cks. Makes you appreciate the broadband even more I guess. Well what have I been doing I hear you ask?

I almost caught a sunrise. I wasn't really going for the sunrise truth be told I just liked the calm water of the creek.

I also got up close to some seagulls this morning. Spotted a Balmy Kite twice but only got a long long distance shot, even with the 400 on. Lots of cockatoos and galahs about so they are targets over the next few days. Yesterday I got an osprey by chance when it flew directly over me as I was shooting some surfers. The day before I had one fly towards me at head height. I'm getting heaps of practice panning and using AI Servo. Still a bit hit and miss though.

One small suggestion, if sending it into competitions or magazines or selling I suggest photoshop bluring the name a bit. Some people get a bit touchy about the name being legible etc (sort of like a model release I guess).

I didn't think about that, thanks very much. i might see if i can clone it out or something tonight.

Yep, certainly having a good time. Although todays been the first go to the beach and swim day since we got down here on Boxing day. Below is the chance meeting I mentioned earlier. Not quite up to the what I'd like but I'll put all of that down to my slow reaction time. Saw this guy with the left eye as I looked with the right at surfers and had to quickly recompose. Only got two shots before he was over my head.

We get back to Brissie about mid next week and I then have another week and a bit of hols left. How soon do people want to go back to Toowong? I've let the Currumbin thread languish a bit also, we never did finalise a date for that one.

Here are my first attempts at surfing shots. Not a lot to write home about but its good to try new things to push yourself.

Thanks Kelsey and Amy for providing the entertainment...(I think they might have hit the red cordial before they arrived )...

Hehe, welcome. :D

Well, I don't know about red cordial, but we definately had some chocolate!

Paul - you stole my shot (the cross with the sunset)! :o That was exactly what I was trying to do. I must say though I think you pulled it off brilliantly!

Still trying to download the photos... my laptop harddrive is full, so I've gone and bought a removable harddrive (like a 100gig usb (probably an exaggeration, but :p)) to put all of my 300+ folders of 300+ photos on. So once I have enough room on my laptop I'll download the photos, PP and put them up :).

Found some very tiny, but interesting frogs at my in-laws place. I'm told that this is about as big as these guys get!

Hey All, sorry I had to pull out at the last minute. I got a call earlier that day from my mum telling my that my grandma had been rused to hospital. She hasn't been well for last 12 months so I thought I should be there. She's doing ok now.

Looks like everyone had a good time and got some great shots. My poor camera enjoyed a nice drive to Brisbane and back in it's bag.....

here's another one I was playing with.... geeeez I need to learn to post process.

I figured out why I couldn't save as jpg... when I export from RawShooter, it imports as a 16bit TIFF.

Anyways... here's my attempt to get the glow we experienced on the day.
