Are you saying the 20D performs better of just for the price?

If so how?

Because you can get a great deal on a 20D. The 20D is a damn good camera. The 30D's features are what should have been in the 20D originally.

The 30D has more versatility to perform, but in terms of overall value in what both deliever, you can get the 20D for a better price. That's all I meant.

I'm happy with having a 30D as my backup camera to my 1DMKII

Canon-fire....I've been shooting horses for the last 2 years with a pair of 20D's (wife is my partner).
They have been very reliable and stand up to the environment that exists in and around arenas.

The (actual 4.3) fPS has been more than adequate for speed events. As you know, when you are running and gunning, you don't have a lot of time to gaze at LCDS, other than a quick check now and then. The aperture wheel and shutter are about all you can handle in the fast action stuff. The 20D is a heck of a good camera. 20,000 clicks each and no malfunctions.

A 40D, a 30D, some nice glass and a great Shooting Partner.
