It doesn't say in your Exif data what mode you used or what the ISO was. Can you post that as well?

Use Canon's software to find it from the original capture. For that matter, if you set the camera's display to show the histogram it'll also show the shooting mode.

I'm not an expert on setting and aperture/exposure; But this is my thoughts from looking at your shots.
1. You are really close to the subject, and the setting should probably be on Macro. I have an S3 and if you want to see that close you have to be in macro or really for that close, Super Macro.
2-4. I don't think you have enough light, and the aperture/exposure is wrong. You have three different lighting conditions and you should have slightly different times for the shutter. The shot of the sky, is grain from the ISO being too high. I get the same problem, but you can get better focus by aiming the camera at something in the distance and then just recompose and shoot the sky. Then clean up the grain with editing.
Personally shooting in "P Mode" works best for me. Hope some of this helps.

You really can't zoom in macro. If you are shooting something like a bug on a flower you might be able to zoom to tinny, tinny bit. I can't remember what the focal length is for Macro, but it's something like you are only working with a total shooting space of 1 foot. That is all you get to play with so things are clear, if that. If you are shooting something like your eye or the very center of a flower you have to be on Super Macro. There is no way only Macro will focus that close. Super Macro will focus at 0mm to somthing like...4 inches.
But sorry, the zoom just will not improve a shot while in Macro, and will not even engage in Super Macro.

Well, I've not had a S2...but on the S3 you just hold down the macro button longer. And a flower symbol comes up with an "s" in the middle.

It's the same on the S2 as well.

Keep in mind that you're going to lose a lot of light/details with Super Macro Mode, so it's usefullness is limited.
