I used it for a few days and once or twice since just messing around, but haven't really touched it since. I'm not a Macro man ... and my 17-70mm will do Ok close up now if I ever need it. I'm looking at getting a Bigma.

Laddie, you have been displaying the Ronald Syndrome quietly for some time , yet that fact has not passed unnoticed to more careful observers like EOS Addict, Sean Macro and m'self.
Ironically, the EF-60 is probably the best generic prime in that FL and vicinity thereof you've ever had.

Ronnie has been my 'roll' model throughout. He has taught me all I know about amateur dramatics shooting (which is nothing!) and drama queens.

I believe I was the original buy and sell meister tho' and finally through fun and resale achieved a kit bag that had cost me nothing (who says photography is expensive!?) Recently I have flirted with L's I know, but really the value isn't there optically and they don't make better pictures using my ICE criteria of imagination, composition and exposure.

So, I've just been toning down and focusing on bang per buck with the 17-70mm and 30mm 1.4. The Canon is a wonderful lens but I only wanted it for Macro. I don't do portraits and my 50mm and 30mm are both 1.4 so ... I also don't collect. Selling is sensible son but I am also happy to keep it long term for Africa ;-)a

Geez Claire, and you were worried

You do realize you had all the ideas and we just provided a little support and a few ears.

Good going, sounds like you got the best deal possible under the conditions. Getting the OT and proper job description, soon to be in writting, as well as a little money was a major success. And you did it, be proud.

Congrats!

Aww, thanks Jim. I've never done these type of talks before & even if I've read stuff, it's much nicer to get input on POTN. I know there are ppl out there with more experience & I loved the input I received from those who are bosses. :)
