I installed the software that came with the camera I'm pretty sure I followed all the instructions properly. When I attatch the camera to my usb port I get the popup message that new hardware has been found and installed. And when I go to my computer I can click on the little camera Icon and see what pictures are on the camera. But whenever I try and access the camera through installed software DPP, Photostitch, Zoom Browser etc. the camera isn't listed in the pull down menu, or a get a message saying the camera is being used by another application and I should exit that particular application. Only problem is there is no application in use even when I do a ctrl, alt, del there are no programs in use. Any info. on this would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

It's my understanding that the camera features can only be accessed via the Firewire connection /cable(?)

Thanks for the quick replies. I thought that might have something to do with it. I have instructions in german I must have misunderstood that part!

Learn from my mistake. I've embarrassed myself often enough on this forum for the benefit of others...

LOL Actually I kind of have been "learning from your mistakes" I've been following your posts and they actually helped sway me to go for the 1Dmkiin over the 5D. Don't know how I missed this one though! thanks again!
