You have a new lens - what's it this week? ;) "Nice bokeh"

EJ,

Thanks...not new...this is my favorite lens in my kit...the 17-55MM EF-S IS.

This shot is at 24MM, 1/250th, f/2.8, ISO 100. I got this one in June of this year and I am loving it.

I did get the 135MM EF L Prime in November...I traded in all my AMEX points for it...free to me and I got an additional $100 rebate on my 30D as well as $40 on the 135MM :)

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!
7D, G5X, 10-22MM EF-S, 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS, 24-105MM f/4 EF L, Leica D-Lux 7

Just curious, shouldn't these threads be called Entries for . . . (or whatever else applies), rather than Contests. Contests imply, judging the entries and selecting a winner.

Uh, I was actually referring to PetKal's new lens... but I do like yours as well. I have a 24-105 for my 20D and sometimes wonder whether the 17-55 might be a better choice. Of course, as soon as I start thinking that I run into situations where the 105 end is invaluable...

Ej,

I think that someday I will trade my 24-70mm EF L for the 24-105 EF L IS. I love IS and I would enjoy the extra 35MMs at the long end.

I agree that the bokah is Petkal's shot is awesome :)

That lens is so good in my opinion too that it has crossed my mind a number of times that Leitz or Schneider Optics might have designed it for Canon.;)

Let us make a little digression here so I can show you the colour and bokeh which has pleased me very much tonite. The motion induced blur is major because I was trying silly things like shooting a 300 mm lens (IS on) at 1/5 sec. This again is a JPG straight outta camera.

Very nice, PK. I hope you get along better with this one than Lisa!!

My digression tonight is that I have to take portraits of a friend's grown kids tomorrow and don't really have a proper portrait setup. I have decided that throwing up some fabric in the garage and shooting the kids is a whole lot easier than portraits of two > 6', 200+ lb men and their sister... fabric's not large enough, can't get enough distance from the background, worried about the lighting. This isn't my thing...

I plan to go looking in the morning for a good outdoor backdrop nearby.

"Contest" in Petkal's world means he entices everyone into entering really fantastic and diverse images with his imaginative themes then at the end he just names #1 fan "Cond(y)aleeza" as the winner.

Contest, entry, it's all the same. We have fun and Condy gets his fragile ego stroked.

;)
