Hi guys. I'm new to this board. here's a picture of a queen ant I think.
Equipment used is an S2IS. these are crops by the way.

What a cutie! Not sure if it's a queen or not, what made you think that it's a queen? Size? Wings? I prefer the 2nd shot because of the pose, you've done a reasonably good job of this, my only comment is it's a bit OOF (out of focus) around the eyes, which like with human portraiture, are the key to a good Insect portrait!

Yup, it was pretty big. Maybe queen looking to start a new colony perhaps. Yeah, the eyes should be as sharp as possible. Its a little difficult with the S2 because quite literally there is no working distance. I wish I had a Rebel with macro lens! more comments please, and dpastern thanks for the comments!
