Cascades

Shot both of these below the 100+ ft. tall waterfall (Mingo Falls for those that know it) I went to shoot... the lighting on the big falls wasn't good but it worked well for some smaller cascades below...

I love the cascades..originally from Seattle, probably my favorite place to shoot on the planet...and I've seen a lot it!

I'm sorry, the title may be confusing to some...

These are not from the Cascades, they're actually cascades below a large water in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Nice shots ...Did u use a ND Filter and which camera ?

I think both shots are very good Scott. You have a good eye for composition and combined with the even exposure it has made pleasing images.

You could experiment with longer exposures and later/earlier in the day. The same shots taken at dawn/dusk take on a smokey effect which is quite stunning. I love the wet rocks, it helps sharpen the edges against the blurred flowing water.

Please do post some more water shots, it really is a magical outcome isn't it?

Ah, Mingo Falls with all the steps. Yep, I've been there. Not only can the lighting be a problem, but the entire falls can be tough to fit into the frame, even with an ultra-wide, without including some of the bridge. I think your shots of the small cascades are very good.

Very nice, I think I like the first one with the contrasting green of the moss, however the second one is very good also.

2 very well composed and timed shots Scott

#2 is my favorite here with that different angle, but I think I would have come off from the log just a tad bit to see more of it's detail.
