Well that's good to know Tim. Hopefully my clients are not as computer savy:)
What do you do to prevent this then? I thought about software that adds proof to them, but it seems like it adds quite a bit of time to pp, not to mention that it's more than a little distracting. Thanks

The software I recommended doesn't work without Javascript enabled in the browser. Even if people could save the files I don't care, since they're automatically watermarked and low resolution anyway.

This might be alot to ask, but is there an easy way to put like 30 thubnails on an 8X10 with image or file nubers? It is much the same as the JAlbum, but i want it to be printed, for an actual proof sheet.

I can do it manually, but it is hellacious, do any of these progroms automate something like that?

What Tim said. Put low res files and you can even put a copyright displayed right on them (it can be large, but not hiding any expressions, etc). I did a PS script that add my copyright string to any size picture automatically (the size of the font is adjusted proportionately to the size of the picture).

The other way to block people from downloading your pics is to make a Flash web site. Then again, they can always make a screen capture and crop your image out...

We use the web gallery ability is Breeze Browser Pro. Builds sites very fast, allows custom branding and watermarks.

A Few Examples:

You mean this one that I just uploaded to my server at ksimmons.com/share? Took me 3 or so minutes total, including viewing the source code, seeing that it was encrypted, saving the image to my hard drive, uploading it to my site, and posting here. :)

Oh and BTW, when I saved the page to my hard drive, it automatically copied all of the thumbnails down the side, too - all 91 of them. They're here on my server - I left the directory structure open so you can see them: http://www.ksimmons.com/share/wight/ (external link)

PS - I'll pull everything from my server tomorrow night. Don't want to steal your images! :) Just wanted to show you that I was able to copy them.

Wow! An impressive bunch of hackers you are! Something to think about. I just hate how distracting that "proof" is on the images. If you are using the images for online proofing your clients really need to be able to see the entire image to know if they want to pay for prints. I guess all they will be stealing is a low resolution image. Maybe I should lower the resolution even more online. Thanks

Honestly, didn't take any hacking at all.

In Firefox or Explorer, go to a webpage and click "save as". It'll prompt you to save a "web page, complete" and that means it downloads everything on the page, including all the images and graphics. Took a couple of seconds to save to my computer and then to reupload.

If all else fails "save as" will pretty much grab anything off of any webpage.

Well thanks for that, good job I did not pay for it, I never even thought it could be so easy I suppose its back to a watermark on each picture :( I hate seeing them as I think people should be able to see their horses looking the best they can.

Thank you Karen & Tim for your help.

Martin
