Dear All,
I know it has been done so many times before, but i wish to create a strip of negative type film with four or five sepia toned shots in lieu of the negs.
This I would use as a logo at the top of the letterheads etc which i use for the more traditional work.
I am sure i have some Ilford FP negs somewhere .... would i be best to photograph this against a light box of some description ?
I could then suffer to pay someone to photoshop the selected images onto the "film strip".
Any tips or ideas would be tremendously appreciated by someone who falls into the "not so clever" class.
many thanks,
david
ps ... tacky example attached

Haven't seen it in a few years, maybe it's time to "re-discover it". I just google "Photoshop actions", there is a ton of freebies up there.

I did something like that years ago. I just scanned in a strip of negatives, edited out all the pictures in it (I don't think they scanned well) and threw some scans of my sides in it.

Yups, Photoshop CS2 has a feature called "warp". You find it under Edit > Transform > Warp.

Do you still have the file?

For those of you who's looking for an easier method for film strip effect, go here for a very good photoshop plugin:

If you're well versed with photoshop, some of these effects can be done manually.

There are dozens of free actions available on the net. I have used one called bbfilmstrip and you can get it from www.panosfx.com (external link) as well as a number of other places. Another one is from Ignve Liknes at the site http://www.liknes.no/photoshop/specialfx.htm (external link) .

In both of these you can make the filmstrip look incredibly realistic.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
