While reviewing the 2006 season's images for lessons learned I'm making myself a new set of desktop wallpaper. These are a few of the pitcher desktops. All images are radical crops from originals plus a bit of post processing to include noise reduction then they were re-sized for posting here. EXIF data is embedded.

Steve - I got a few keepers during the season but didn't get that one-in-a-million shot I'm afraid. I'll try again next season Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

Yes they're with a 300 f/2.8 plus 1.4x TC on #4, #5, #6 and #8. All are cropped radically from originals during PP though -- I wasn't quite this close ;) .

Hey Jerry - I can't believe I missed one of your threads, I always look forward to seeing your baseball shots. You can tell they are extreme crops because a couple of them look a little soft and your stuff is never soft. Of these I like #8 the best, mainly because it is a very unique view. It's good to see the Cubs are making some moves and getting serious about winning this year. Looking forward to seeing you at ST in AZ.

Jerry - are you having spring fever already? Perhaps this year I will make it down.

Thanks all!

Chris - As for #8, he pitched for the Chattanooga Lookouts -- note how much his eyes look like the team logo on his chest. Chattanooga's team logo is a big C with a pair of eyeballs in it. Hendry does seem to putting together a pretty good team but I've thought that in seasons past -- we'll see if it pays off this time. I'm anxious to see what sort of rotation comes out of ST and looking forward to seeing you there too.

Mark - Actually I'm not ready for ST yet but I'll be there by mid February. I don't know exactly what ST games I'll be shooting yet but I'll probably be at an ST camp almost every day in March. I'll be in Arizona March 16 - 25 so if you want to hook up sometime you might want to plan accordingly.

nice as always jerry!! I believe I asked before, but are you using center point focus? I still have a ton to go through myself and burn off. ST can't come fast enough for me!!!

Mike - I use single point focus but not always center point. Center point seems to be the most sensitive though so I tend to use it more than the peripheral points especially on action shots.
