Heres a compairison i did in the new CS3 beta B&W conversion tool

heres the original color:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/png'

strait desatured in hue/sat:
IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/png'

and the new black and white with some fooling around in the new conversion:
IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/png'

of course similar results could be achieved with channel mixer in the past. but this tool is MUCH more slick and geared to making the most of your B&W images

I think it would have been better to ask permission first and THEN post someone else's images in your blog.
