This is a sensible thread for Shooters not 'Tupperwierd Talkers'.

We want to see a shot that you have rejected in the past as not worth PPing, but which now, when you trawl through your arse-chive of shots, after you look again, for some inexplicable reason (drink, worsening miopia, need to compete, stupidity, or whatever) is now worth resurrecting :-)

Well go on then ... select and PP away and whatever the result, show it in this mild mannered Exhibition of Losing Shots that rose again to become Winners

You wanna look through your arse-chive and check fast then the freebie Faststone Image Viewer (external link) rocks ;-)a

Here is one I found that was originally rejected due to noise ...

Mutual surprise in this one. Fear on my behalf, too. So much so that I didn't check the settings and just hammered away on the shutter - shutter speed of 1/15 on the 100-400 is not conducive to good, clear shots.

Well done Kiwi ... nice little story to boot. So, is that beady-eyed fella a killa?

Could be, I guess. It is the Eastern Brown - according to some sources it is bretty bad if you get bitten - and according to a ranger friend 85% of people that get bitten by these do so while trying to kill it. I just took a few quick shots and beat a hasty (but dignified) retreat.

I like the colours and colour separation in the Bambi shot, too. If that was recovered with PP then it was well done.

That isn't really within the spirit or theme of this thread, but thank you for posting and do try to learn from your (all too regular!) mistakes. Thanks for sharing ;-)a

I rejected this due to noise. It was shot indoors with a lot of exhaust. Contrast was gross. Background iso noise was like a Seurat painting. It is my best example of a couple hours of post processing to save a shot.

The background on this was utterly horrid. I learned and have now possibly forgotten how I used about 6 layers to motion blur this subject with masks, and some clever erasing and backfilling.

The tigers were having a play fight in their pool , I really liked the "eye of the tiger" thing going on here as he tries to chomp on his brother but the water splashes look odd:(

Yup ... the eye makes it. You could clone the water out in a few minutes as they're mainly over easy areas.

I thought I had completely blown this shot, but was quite surprised by what I was able to recover in it... especially since I wasn't shooting RAW.

Geez, that's unbelievable. The first one looks like something Dante or Ronald Sr.Jr. would shoot. The second one is like Cyber with his 200 f/1.8.

The first shot is JPG original outta camera.
The second shot is still unprocessed (my shots very seldom require any PP:cool: )just cropped up to 100% and ready for posting on the Macro Forum.

LOL.

I should note that the Photoshopping done was Levels, Saturation, and sharpening. Nothing fancy at all.
