Geez, that's unbelievable. The first one looks like something Dante or Ronald Sr.Jr. would shoot. The second one is like Cyber with his 200 f/1.8.

Don't hold yourself back, just tell us how you feel!

This one (and several like it) were previously trashed because they were noisy and tool small in the frame to warrant much attention. A hard crop, noise reduction and sharpening later, it's a reasonable shot.

I thought I had completely blown this shot, but was quite surprised by what I was able to recover in it... especially since I wasn't shooting RAW.

Smashing building ... looks like an old English manor house.

Well done Scottie ... shows the Raw power of Raw: a PPers dream.

PetKal wrote in post #2409395 (external link)
OK, I get the idea. The first shot is JPG original outta camera.
The second shot is still unprocessed (my shots very seldom require any PP:cool: )just cropped up to 100% and ready for posting on the Macro Forum.

Yes, cropping is a shooters dream too as many a crummy shot can show a wonderful bit of detail if one has the eye for it ;)

Great shot junior ... the first composition makes it and the PP builds on that foundation. The girl fancies herself you can tell by that 'accidental pose' :-) Very nice offering this festive season ... one would almost imagine you were one of the three wise men bearing photographic gifts (Ok, wise lads then) :-)

Yeah, that's is ... most of us will have a shed load of reasonable shots we never look at again, but won't delete either. They are like our screaming, snotty nosed kids: they irritate, but we still kinda love them

Good work y'all ... I'm likin' what I am seeing. Off to root through my own files for some truffles :-)

Not really a 'reject' as such, but I just wasn't happy with the original, out of the camera...

Bit of a play in PS and a 'Midnight Gold' action - and hey-presto!

Snapshot of a relative, liked the facial expression but everything else was wrong.

Very good guess! It's the Rufford Abbey ruins in Nottinghamshire.

A couple more from the arse-chive way back in my Bigma days :-)

heron rejected due to that 'edginess' you get with many jpg shots and the blown head and dodgy background; second one I cropped out a kid who walked into shot :-(

I dunno ... before my time I reckon it could be tho'. By coincidence, more motoring madness from yesteryear. I think these were my first RAW shots, taken with a wonderful Tokina 20-35mm 2.8 I had back then: the best widey I've ever had.
