I love the second one. Very expressive. Was it handheld or tripod? How did you judge the exposure - the end result is perfect?

Thanks, Mike. I moved about the area taking several shots before getting the light balance you see. Very little pp, a bit of dodging of the face and objects on the desk was about it.
28-135, handheld at about 100mm. The "p" setting, 1600 iso. The attendant was in place to enforce the "no photographing" rule in the museum. After I showed her the image, she pointed to the "No Photo" sign with something like a half-smile.
