hey, you did a good job using that particular HDR technique to extract as much detail as you did, and create a more balanced exposure. Infact the latest version of Photomatix can convert a single RAW file directly into an 'HDR' file without having to create 3 exposures from it. It can work well for certain images where the light isn't clipped at either end of the scale, but technically it's not an HDR.

Beautiful shot! The colors are gorgeous! But I do agree that it appears to be a bit oversharpened.
