i've decided its time i invest in a light meter but don't know how to go about choosing one. are there particular features i should look for? and how much should i expect to pay for a good yet affordable one?

If you want spot metering you might consider one of the higher models becasue I believe they (L-558 and L-758 ) have the spot metering built in or come with the attachment, whereas the L-358 offers the spot metering attachment as an option that, last I checked was $125. It is extremely nice and the USB connection to your pc for importing exporting settings and the new camera sensor profies. I am still leanring everything this bad boy can do. But I would definatley spedn the extra $ on it if you can because you will not have to upgrade at any time in the near future. Gear List? My gear is bigger than yours? Just shoot have fun...
