I hiked up Mt. LeConte yesterday in the Great Smoky Mountains. "Arch Rock" is along the way, thats where this was shot... comments/criticism welcome.

Very nice shot.. I have one from almost the exact same perspective shot last spring when i was there. I was so scared of slipping on those tiny, slick stairs and breaking my equipment. Gatlinburg also scared me, but for very different reasons :-D

Did you make it all the way to the top? Its beautiful, and pretty rough. There was ice/snow at the top, so that made it fairly difficult with all my equipment.

We did make to the top, but it was rough.. i had my old 35mm setup and a 4*5 medium format camera and lenses.. all in all around 30lbs of just camera gear. add to that the usual camping gear, and my legs were just brutalized after a week!

Beautiful shot. I've never hiked Mt LeConte, but have heard it's quite a haul. Hope you got lots of good shots for all that effort.

:)

I really only got this one, it was one of those days when you're just not photographically on... it sucks but I enjoyed the hike and being outside, photography always comes second to that.
