Hello! I'm pretty new here, but I had some pictures from a trip to Malawi that I wanted to get some feedback on. And this is kind of silly, but which picture do you think would make a good Christmas present for my Dad?

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Number one is a little too tight, I would prefer to see all of the head. Still a nice capture tho. Number two for me as it tells a story, the playfullness in those eyes suggests that he posed as you took out your camera. A great shot which could work well in B&W!

Yeah, there's a story that goes with number one. I was being crowded and smashed by all these people who wanted their pictures taken, and one father said, "Can you snap my son?" And so I did, but that was as far away from him as I could get.

That just really strikes me, somehow, because they all knew that they'd never get to see or keep their pictures, they just really wanted to be photographed. I don't know if the appeal was purely in the experience, so that they can say "someone has taken a picture of me..." I don't know. I just get caught up in thinking about that sometimes.

The eyes in the 1st one are really incredible. Id like to see a close-up crop of that detail.. Very nice series, id have to choose the 4th image for a present.
