While on vaction in Munich last week I decided to travel south towards the Alps. I hopped on a train and headed towards Garmisch Partenkirchen, a small town deep in the Bavarian Alps, my plan was to visit Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak. It was quite incredible, the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen! The place was covered in snow, a real winter wonderland!

1) Snow Road, this area is full of people in the Summer, but in the Winter they go skiing so I was free to roam. Contax 50mm f/1.7 T* -

2) Snowed Inn. It's almost like a ghost town below the mountains, it's great not having tourists crowd your shots! Zenitar -

3) Winter Eibsee, Lake Eibsee is a large lake surrounded by mountains. Contax 50mm f/1.7 T* -

4) Footprints to Alpspitze, The cogwheel train stops at Sonn Alpin, 300m from the summit, I thought about skiing down, but then I remembered that would involve falling down a mountain-side head first... with my camera gear. Contax 50mm f/1.7 T* -

5) In the Shadow, Zugspitze forever looks down upon Garmisch Partenkirchen and Eibsee. Munich is on the horizon. Zenitar -

6) Reception on the Top, on the summit of Zugspitze the panoramic views are amazing, and apparently so is the mobile phone reception. Zenitar -

7) Peak Light, Zugspitze' summit shining like a beacon. Zenitar -

It brings back memories Joey as I was there last May, and have posted a few of my German photos (including the Zugspitze here too). I've had a look at your website, and there are some nice photos there, but what struck me was that you were in Prague in August 2006, and I was there in September! So, what I want to know is - where are we going in 2007 then? ;)

Not as daft as you may think! I've got a relative in Florida, and my wife and were talking about going over in the summer.
