Heading to Barcelona 24-28th December. Will I be able to get any food over Christmas, i.e. when are the shops and cafes open over the period? If not, then we can stock up on some items for 25th and 26th.

Thanks

I haven't spent Christmas in Barcelona in several years, but I had no trouble finding places to eat during that time frame. There were lots of choices along Ramblas.

If you have a hearty stomach, try the "Fisherman's Paella" at Salvador Dali's restaurant/museum. Lobsters a go-go...

Are you a veggie, Dave? I vaguely recall hearing Buddhist noises a while back. So no festive lobsters?

I can't imagine it being hard to eat well in Barcelona at any time.

I dont think you should run into much trouble around the holidays finding good places to eat.. tourist destinations like Barcelona will always stay open. While you are there (especially if you enjoy crazy architecture) be sure to visit Parque Guell, which is a small city designed by Gaudi. Really fantastic photo opportunities there. Have a great trip!

Thanks ... I'd like to revisit tho' time is limited for this trip and I want to prioritise places I didn't do last time ;) Some of the Gaudi buildings I will see again as not far from the hotel. Last time I had no camera with me, so good to take some shots. There is so much to shoot there. Wonderful city.
