Am 3 weeks into ownership of the G1 and the world of digital photography and would like some advise/comments on the following dilemma's:
1. Would like to increase the capacity of the film memory by way of spare card/drive, was quite keen to go for a 512MB/1.0G IBM Microdrive but came across some users comments that the MD cause the G1 circuitry to heat up and in some instances led to serious problems with the cameras being sent back to Canon for renewal of the electrics circuitry! Has any user had this experience with heavy use of the MD? Also, on a certain US website selling memory cards for the digital cameras, they have a cautionary statement advising that "CANON DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF MICRODRIVES IN THEIR DIGITAL CAMERAS". In view of the many users on this forum using the MD's, I remain confused over this issue!
2. Would the SunPak AF440 (Canon dedicated) be compatible with the G1? What exactly are the differences between the Speedlite 420EZ & 550EZ if using with the G1? How is the 550EZ different from the EX?
