Thanks, I look at it in the store. Would you happen to have the model number?

All it says on the box is Tamron F 1.4 teleconverter. They used to cost about $80 but I think they recently raised the price to about $110 at least that is what places like B&H and Adorama are charging for them. It is important to note here that this combo will work well for birds that are perched. You probably won't have allot of luck with flying birds except for maybe a larger slower flying bird like a swan because you do lose some auto focus speed. The better the light the better this combo works. The IQ is outstanding. I think Tamron makes two 1.4 converters The so called pro model has eleven pins and costs considerably more. It will not AF with the 400mm f 5.6 lens

How does the cheap tamron compare to the Kenko 1.4x Pro DG with taped pins? http://www.bhphotovideo.com …EG&addedTroughType=search (external link)

You can get it sometimes on ebay as well. I am also looking to buy one but I have a problem since most ebay sellers wanna ship to US only.. and I am in europe... so... :( good luck with your purchase and when you buy it let us know how it works. ;)
