Hi,
I will be visiting Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo, Mexico in a few days. I have never been to Mexico, but to my knowledge, these two places are tourist attractions, so they would be safer than somewhere like TJ. I will only be there for a day and only DURING THE DAY. I am interested in bringing my Digital Rebel. Should I worry about getting it stolen, damaged, etc.? Or should I just bring my point-and-shoot?

I've heard some bad stories, but I don't know how true they are.

Thanks!
Aaron

Neither place you're going to are as "scary" as some of the smaller towns. Don't be paranoid; but know what's around you (Like you would be in ANY city other than your own) and you'll be fine.

I assume you're either cruising or driving.

If you drive; BUY MEXICAN INSURANCE BEFORE you cross the border.

Make sure you get insurance on your gear, too.

That way you get to not worry about the finacial loss should s**t happen.

check with your home insurance agent regarding coverage. It really is not that expensive.
