Yes yes I know "woohoo some kid got a lense!" but I thought I would share! I got it like an hour ago and snapped just a couple pictures while my family was opening presents. I know these arent the best, but im just excited to have a decent lense! Im off to Nebraska at 4 A.M. tomorrow morning so I have the long trip to mess around with it haha.

Congragulations on your new piece of glass. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. As a matter of fact, I'm seriously considering buying one after the holidays.

Thanks, I have really wanted a lense for low light and I think this will do the trick just fine!

Great purchase! Congrats! I use that lens a lot, especially indoors without flash. It's so great. Outdoors, it's perfect for small groups.

Very happy for you! I would show you some of my pics of this 1.4 I just bought 2 weeks ago, but I have a film camera.

I'm working on it...

Nice and sharp, your lense... Get the lense hood for it - Canon Es-71 II

I upgraded to the same lens from the 1.8 two weeks ago. You'll love the 1.4 :)

I love the lens too. The only problem I have run into is shooting wide open at f/1.4....it can be soft. Stopping down to f/2.8 makes a big difference IMHO.

Enjoy it!!

I agree...I have one on mine...found it on B+H. Link to the Canon 50MM F/1.4 catalogue page and then go to Accessories TAB and it will be listed as a optional purchase.

Congrats on the new lens...I have taken 100's of sharp photos with my copy

so whats the point of getting the 1.4. Might as well just get a 1.8 and stop it down... for 1/4 the price.

I'm very happy for you, but is it your family tradition to open X-Mas presents several days early?

Well, there ARE other differences.

Anyway, congrats on the new present, KROHN. Welcome to the club. :)
