Okay, I have definately fallen prey to the camera gods and have purchased way more "stuff" than will fit in my backpack camera bag. What other system do people use to store camera gear at home. I don't really need a hardsided case like a Pelican, although they are great cases. I'm just thinking that something soft-sided might be a little cheaper.

All suggestions greatly appreciated. Photos and/or links to websites an added bonus.

Thanks, Mark

Hey a fellow hoosier!! i also purchased too much equipment to fit in my backpack so i bought another case. the backapack i had was the tamrac expedition 5 and the other bag i got was the tamrac pro 12. the pro 12 can fit almost everything i have in it (see sig) but when everything is sitting at home it is spread out between the two bags. I will eventually get pelican cases to store every thing and for use in traveling as well. but for now what i have works just fine.

If you consider the fact that a backpack is not really an ideal bag to work from (though it's great for hauling stuff), you might consider a decent shoulder bag for day-to-day use and use the backpack as your "storage locker" for the extra items.

I use the Lowepro Stealth Reporter 650 AW to carry my 20D and three very large L zoom lenses with their hoods plus a meter, flash, battery charger, and lots of other accessories. It's a fantastic working bag, as the lenses just drop into vertical "tubes" the way I have it set up. There's never any risk whatsoever of dropping items out of the bag while I'm using it, even if I leave the top totally unfastened.
