Bought a printer for a friend from Amazon and today got an email offering the usual range of accessories - inks paper etc including compatible 1290 colour ink cartridges at 1p each. Ordered 10 just for my mate and luckily checked the bill before clicking confirm.

£45.00 postage for items charged at 10p

Always check anything from Amazon as to what the carriage will be as their outside supplier seems to charge 4.50 per item not package!

Canon 600D, 40D, 350D + 50mm 1.8, Sigma 18-200is, 70-200 2.8DG and 70-300. Still have A1 and 300 EOS and must get out my Rollei TLR sometime

I'd complain to Amazon, these are not coming from Amazon directly, but a 'partner'. See the bottom line: "Sold by: glosupplies". Amazon is usually a great company and they might be interested in knowing about these shipping charges.

Thier not the only ones, I just looked at ordering a Benbo 2 Tripod from B&H:

Cost of Tripod US$199
Cost of shipping via UPS US$99

Iv sent a 4kg parcel to the states, it didn't cost any more than about US$10.

So long and thanks for all the flash

Businesses and Shipping companies are taking advantage of the high cost of fuel.

Sorry, I work for NZ largest courier company, we have the countrys largest vechile fleet, and I can happily say that is total crap.
Some companys might be useing it as an excuse to raise prices, but as an over cost of doing bussines it is not a legtimate reason to charge US$100 for a 4kg parcel, or 45 pounds for something that weighs less than a kilo.
That is simply dishonest business, and excessive profit taking.

So long and thanks for all the flash
