I am selling my venerable Canon D30 on eBay and someone asked me if their brand spanking new Sigma 17-70 in EF mount will work properly with this camera?
Does anyone have any experience/feedback so I can answer this question with some knowledge?
Thanks,
Pradeep
Since the 17-70's newer than the D30, there should be no problem. The Sigma compatibility problems have been with older Sigma lenses failing to operate on newer Eos bodies.

Never owned a D30 but...
Does the D30 the 1.6 magnification on any lens used like the later (current) Canon digital SLR's have?
Does the prospective purchaser know all about it?
Please . . . none of Canon's cameras have a magnification on a lens, unless you're using a teleconverter. A 17 mm lens is always a 17 mm lens. Different Eos cameras will have different sized sensors, which capture different amounts of the lens' image circle, but there's no "magnification". The D30 has the same APS-C sized sensor as the D60, 10D, 300D, 20D, 350D, 30D and 400D. The 1D, 1Ds, 1D II, 1Ds II, 5D and 1D IIN all have bigger sensors than that (and they're all later than the D30).
