On our first full day of exploration in South Africa, as I have already mentioned, it rained buckets. The Three Rondavels was one of the first ports of call and, with bag on camera, I did my best to capture this awsome scene. This is 4 pictures taken with the 17-40 at 28mm, stitched by hand as Photoshop wouldn't put the buggers together :(

ISO160, f16, 5D, 17-40, CPL. I took two pictures at different exposures as getting the GND's out in the rain was a no-no :(

Moody skies, fabulous scenery, and rich and colourful processing. These are just a few of the things that this photo lacks! ;) Just kidding, the photo has all of these and more.

Magnificent Photo! I love how the river draws my eye into the photo.

Dimitri it is a dream, but the two half days we had here (on the way to Kruger and on the ways back) were terrible. Rain in most places and heavy mist (too heavy even for a picture) further up the mountains, where many waterfalls can be found. I will return there one say, a great wilderness and a week could be spent simply in the Blyde River Canyon / Sabie area. But the experence of these views, even in the rain, was unforgetable.

If anyone can tell me the best range to use with the 17-40 or 24-105 for stiching, please do, they were a pain to merge togther!

:) cheers everyone. Zeker, I think it is a reservoir but we never actually got down there. Adam* - a man of few words, but one I like :)

Neil

This shot is great mate, very dramatic.

It's almost like you've photoshopped a Scottish sky into it

Breathtaking as usual Neil, love how you caught the far off rain falling.

Funny, whilst there I thought to myself "10 hours flight and still the weather followed me!". Cheers Scottie and frank, by the way that rain was not as far off as it looked :)

Very dramatic, Neil, and great color. However, it's the foreground detail that does it for me.
