I see work like that and think I should be selling mine to Getty!

A guy I went to school with is a staff photographer for Getty. I was just checking out all his work. Pretty cool to have that gig -- you get a lot of great opportunities.

Got me to thinking though. Given an opportunity like this, makes me wonder how much I would like to do it on my own personal time. I don't mind doing some things here and there, but if I depended on it for a paycheck, I wonder if some of the love would go. I've seen some photags who have worked for papers or whatever for a long time and they don't like shooting on their own time -- and even they'll say they miss some great things because of that.

I'm the same way. I used to love to write on my own time -- but being I rely on it for a check, it's tough to get myself to sit down and write anything on my own time. I've often thought about going back to school for photography, but seems like it would be another love I could lose!

I sent a query to Getty. I don't think I'll hear back! :-)
