I did some tests of the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM, too...f/1.6, ISO 400, and 1/100s.

Ed that is fantastic too! Amazing how happy your dog looks there, like he's really enjoying the moment the same way your wife is. Dogs so often look sad to me. I can relate to your wife vetoing it though. My wife vetos pics all the time because they don't make her look the way she wants them to.

Got my Sigma 30/1.4 back from Sigma NY today. Some quick shots around the house established that it is much, much improved. The AF is still not nearly as precise as the Canon, aperture for aperture, but it is way better than before. I want the bokeh and speed of the Sigma and the AF of tha Canon. I am ready to spend some cash to make it happen, but I don't like the extra 5mm of the 35L. I'm gonna take a good hard look at the 24L next.

i dont know witch lens to get out of these 2 , the sigma im leaning more towards , witch ever i will probaly get the canon 50mm f1.8 as well and that will be me set on my way to start learning photography :D
