Ok, so I'm normally not one to do stuff like this, but I had to share.......

It's been a long time coming....Canon AT-1, AV-1, Elan II, G1, 300D, Mamiya RB-67, 645E, and now.....Canon EOS 5D

Here's a "family snapshot" along with the newly acquired 15mm f/2.8 fisheye :)

Ronald, just updated it! I've always been more of a wide angle shooter, all the lenses past 85mm I've ever owned sat largely unused. I keep swearing though that one day I'm going to get into wildlife shooting (I've only been saying it for about 20 years! LOL)

I am sure you will enjoy it. It is a very natural feeling unit coming from film SLR. No you are not weighted too much for wide angle. I luv it myself. Beside I checked your gallery and you know what you want and how to use it.

Quad - you're right! As much as I enjoyed the 300D, it never felt 'quite right', having shot film for so long. The 5D feels much more like a 'natural extension'. Thanks for the comments on my gallery too!

Congrats on your new machine!

Of course now you'll want to get the BG-E4 battery grip for the 5D. ;)

if you want it to feel more like a 'natural extension', listen to AeroSmith and get a BG-E4.. the balance and feel it gives you will make you wonder how you ever went without it. Congrats on the new purchase!

Aero & sj - Thanks! I'll more than likely pass on the grip though, I'm more of a tripd/remote release kind of guy :) Speaking of which, the RS-80N3 is a heck of a lot more comfortable than the RS60-E3 for the Rebel!

I love it, what more proof do you need that a guy is in love when he takes pictures of his camera! she's a beauty mitch, I am sure you will be very happy together, all the best.
btw, somebody once said that I was in love with my Ukulele, but I told them we were just good friends.
