Thank you for the kind words. We take both our dogs everywhere we go. In fact we only vacation to places that allow dogs for that reason.

This is our female Belgian Malinois, Vixen. I know she has no GSD in her, but since I haven't seen a Malinois thread, I'm hoping to sneak her in this one. ;)

Malinois are welcome as far as I am concerned :) I'm pretty sure Shelby is a malinois, or malinois/shepherd mix. She was a stray puppy so I don't know for sure.

Wow! Beautiful dog. I'd say you are exactly right, a Mal/ GSD mix. She's got the build and markings (up to the head) of a Malinois, the slightly longer coat and sloping back of a GSD, and the face and ears of a GSD.

I love her tongue in the second pic. Ari has the same goofy, disproportionate tongue and it always hangs out the side of his mouth as well. I see she's wearing a both a pinch and a flat collar. I run the same set-up on Ari because he's so high-drive. Do you do any work (or sport) with Shelby?

Our shepherd would love to join Ari at work, but there'd be more "play" going on than work:rolleyes:. I reckon you wouldn't find a better partner than your boy though.

Nah nothing more than hiking and swimming for shelby :p She's a bit of a basketcase. She had some small very minor issues with other dogs and strangers, but then she got attacked by another dog when she was 2 or so and all her little anxieties got cranked up to 11 after that.

I'd like to do nosework with her,a couple times she has lead me off trail in into the woods to a spot covered in feathers, where a coyote must have killed a large bird.

She's the smartest dog i've ever known, so easy to train, overall an amazing dog despite her problems.
