Nice!

I'm a bit surprised by the number of GSD people here. Surprised but very cool too!

Jon.

Seems like a good thread to (finally) break my image posting cherry!

My mum's dog, but staying with me at moment so I'll claim him for the purposes of posting here :D

Clicking on the photo should link to a slightly larger image (1200x800) that really shows how dirty he is at the moment. Playing around with a new 50mm 1.4 and rather impressed with sharpness to say the least....and playing with off-camera flash also to keep myself amused.

I'll get a photo of his brother and post later, remarkably different looking dog considering from the same litter.

Cheers,
Karl.

So many GSD's, warms my heart to see all these much loved dogs. I have just applied to adopt a GSD from a rescue home for the breed and it is shattering to see how many ill treated abused ones there are to choose from. Hopefully it will work out and we will get our fifth GSD soon. All the others are gone now but never to be forgotten.

I hope you get one Mike! If this one makes your fifth, you know what it's like to have them... Post up some pictures for us. Heck, post some of the dogs that are now gone...

Jon.

Well, I'm new to the forum, but I saw the GSD pics and had to post. I have two, a 10-year old female and a 5-month old male puppy. They're both a couple of crazy doggies! Here's a couple of shots I made recently. Remy is the pup. He's just 3-months old in the shot with the mud. Dana is my female. She's still very active for an older dog, and she's made sure Remy knows who the queen bee is in this house.

OK, here is a photo of my last GSD Kheta shortly before we lost her. A very sad picture for me, bitter sweet but one of very few digital photos I have of any of my GSD's. Next stage is Monday when our home is inspected for suitability and to discuss the type of GSD we want. Here is hoping!

Thanks for your comments, Mike. I hope you get your shepard. I've had GSDs all my life, and I think they're the best dogs to own. Good luck!

Update, collect our new one tomorrow evening. 7-10 month old rescue dog, little known about him except he is very friendly, untrained and bouncy. That is one off death row anyway and I can't wait to get him!

Great, Mike! Take some good shots of the guy and make sure you post them. I'm glad you got a shelter dog. I work for the prison system in NC, and we have the "New Leash on Life" program at our unit. Inmates are trained by a professional to work with shelter dogs on basic commands, then we try to find homes for them. We had a beautiful shepard that was so badly abused, he wouldn't come out of his kennel. We had to have two of the inmates carry him. But by the end of his training, he was much, much better. One of the inmate's family members ended up adopting him. Good luck!
