This has undoubtedly been the hardest 48 hours of my life. Granted I have never lost a direct family member. but holy crap, I don't know how anyone does this multiple times throughout their life. The house just isn't the same - he was there when we moved in ten years ago and he has never not been there in some form or another.

Sorry for bringing the thread down, I just need to get it off my chest. Empty bowls, toys, the spots where he layed every night with the carpet all worn down..just too much.

He was a gsd/collie...shepherds are really wonderful dogs, every one i've met.

Yeah, Mike. I understand the feeling, too. I had to put my 13-year old pup Murray down last year. I still miss him. We got a GSD pup about a year ago and named him.......Remy! Here's a pic. Maybe it'll cheer you up just a bit.
