So what does Jake do when you catch a fish? He looks a lot like our Sarge.

Ah, Jake's job is to ensure we don't catch fish. Too much splashing and playing. That is why I had my camera instead of a rod. :)

Just a snapshot, really of my sweet Maggie because I haven't posted one in a while. This was with the 35L at 1.4. I'm a little dismayed it looks so "normal" and uninteresting :( This is my first day with that lens.

I did a sitting of our trainer's 10 yr old female this morning. *Aspen* has cancer, so the trainer wanted some photos before she started feeling bad. Thing is, since the trainer started 'asparagus' therapy, the tumor has stopped growing. The vets are baffled. .. anyway, here's a few shots from this morning.
The owner wanted one of her playing - running after the ball:

TheMaggedy,
what settings do you use to make your pictures "POP"? the post above yours which is also quoted for comparison, is fuzzy to me, yours always have vivid colors and the contrast is amazing. I see you have a 7d I wonder what the other guy has, or if its the lens combination but all your pictures turn out good so it cant be setup alone. Maybe its the settings?

Hi - jetta-the-hut. First of all, thank you for the compliment. Hmm, let's see. I shoot almost only primes. Usually the 135L, 85 1.8, 50 1.4 or in those pics above my new 35L + 5D. I shoot RAW and take the pics into DPP first where I do a quick WB adjustment if needed, and sometimes boost the saturation or contrast by +1. I usually crop in this application as well. Then I convert and save to JPEG, open in Photoshop, do a quick Curves layer, and run a sharpening action I have. Finally I throw the watermark on them using a free watermarking program I have (Visual Watermark). I'm not crazy about my watermark but for now it's the quickest method I have, and I've had too many photog friends warn me about stolen images not to use one. That's pretty much my workflow. It's taken me the better part of a year to get this down pat, but I think I have it now, and my pics are pretty consistently crisp and clear. Hope that helps :)

Thanks Maggedy. So is your girl. I love the rich, dark color of her coat. And Pike is sooooo handsome.
