Hi all -

I'm playing around w/ my new A710is, and I've noticed that setting the Custom White Balance on it isn't as easy (or accurate?) as on my dSLRs. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Can anybody help?

I've attached 2 pictures. The first one is with AWB with flash. i noticed that it was a little yellow, so I changed to CWB and pressed the "MENU" button aimed at a white piece of paper to set the CWB. I then proceeded to take another shot on CWB with flash and came out with the 2nd picture, which is completely off. Now several attempts at CWB have some out with these green pictures.

Am I missing something on setting CWB on the A-Series digicams? Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Your custom white balance was set without the flash so the flash is what is messing you up.
If you set your CWB and then take a shot (no flash) it looks look. Correct?

Thanks for the reply . . . I'm sorry . . . I took the CWB w/ flash and then took the 2nd shot w/ flash and got the green.

You just got me thinking, so I just tried it again and took the CWB w/o flash and then took a shot with flash and it turned out perfect!

When shooting with the A710is indoors, I've noticed that the White Balance settings get all screwed up when I add the flash. I did a AWB w/o flash and it was fine, when I added flash, it turned out very yellowish. There is no "flash" White Balance setting. So I guess I need to do CWB everytime I'm indoors and using the flash.
