But one of the first things I did was accidently touch the lens when I went to pick it up. I was wondering what I would clean it with and if it will ruin picture quality. Amazingly it takes a pretty good smudge to damage picture quality. Touching the lens will not hurt it and you can clean it with a lens tissue or a microfiber cloth. Avoid spraying any liquid onto the lens directly if it is a nasty smear but spray just a tad on the cloth itself. Avoid using anything like paper towels. Also, even clothing can be scratchy but i a pinch a cotton tee shirt should be soft enough.
