Newbie Question - I have the original CF card that came with my PS A75 and, of course, want more memory. There are some great sales on right now (Sandisk 512mb/$9.98 and Kingston 1gb SD with reader/$19.98. Are these compatible with my camera? Suggestions? Thank you.

You need a CF card. Anything up to 1 GB will be fine; 2 GB will need to be formatted in FAT16, I think, but should also work. Don't get SD - you'd need to get a SD-CF adapter to put it in your camera.

Thanks Jon - your info will save me buying the wrong card and returning it. I think I'll get 2 CF 512mb cards - am I correct in thinking that a 1gb card would slow response time?

I just arrived (kicking, **** and dragging my heels) 2 years ago to the world of digital photograhpy.

Is there any reason I should stick to Canon products with my PS A75?. I have the EOS 10S SLR- bought when it was "new generation" back in 90/91. I have been faithful to the Canon accessories for the old SLR but, with all that's on the market, do you think I have to stick with Canon for the digital?

Thanks for your help.

No, getting one (or more) 1 GB cards won't make the camera noticeably slower.

If you're going to be moving onto a DSLR, unless you've only got one lens and are planning to sell that along with the film EOS, you're as well off, if not better, sticking with Canon. Your EOS accessories will work fine on the EOS digitals (with the possible exception of oldler Sigma lenses or EZ flashes)
