Those are all great shots - hard to pick a favorite but I think I like #5 the best, the color contrast between the bird and whatever he is next to is nice. Good composition too.

More fine images from you Les.

Particularly like the first image. A different take on the remembrance theme.

No. 5 is a fine cock but the red ironwork in front of it is somewhat distracting.

Hope Santa was good to you and you had a good Christmas. Unfortunately, he was unable to deliver my new Lees filter kit personally, but he promised to dispatch them by courier shortly ;)

All nice but my favourites are #2, #3 and #7. :)

#2 tells a story as well as leading us perfectly into that tangle of winter branches.

#3 is a great capture. Did you pre-focus at a spot and wait for the dog?

#7 is a shot I've tried to do a few times but ended up with a boring mass of blur. There are so many textures and patterns in this shot plus it has depth. :)

Les, I know that you have two dogs, but if #4 and #5 are photos of them, then I think your breeder pulled a fast one on you. ;)

#6 is my pick. I love how you manage to capture/process the golden rich colours and the wet rocks that look like they had just been varnished before you took the shots.

I've taken a number of Jack 'in flight', the IDS is excellent in tracking focus, although I always do a burst of shots as he's running towards me, attached is probably my favourite.

Very nice series Les. I prefer #2 & 3. The dog in mid flight is super and the couple on a walk is has a lot of nice features, warm colour, compositions and theme, lines that draw your eye in nicely and framing with the large trees.

I like the chicken but I have to agree with Ruairidh that the red painted steel is a little too distracting. I feel the contrast between the subject matter of the steel vs chicken bothers me more than the colour contrast. Chickens and roosters do make good subjects though.

Thanks for posting.

Joe

That's what I wanted to say, but I wouldn't have done it so well. So ditto. And what's the rest of the story on the first one?

Les, have you artificially blurred the background using PS in #4 & 5?

I only ask, 'cos I've just changed back to using my desktop with it's bigger/brighter LCD and noticed that the background blur appears to have blotchy pattern, as if it's some form of computer generated pattern.

Still like all the shot, just looking to learn... :D

Very nice set Les with number 6 being my favourite, I love the way you've tucked the waterfall up right at the top.

Excellent work Les - I'm a sucker for fast flowing water ( over wears, waves anything ) so the last two I especially like -'Tv' spot on for me - nice.
John's obviously in the know but IS Jack one of your dogs? he's a little cracker and I do like the extra shot of him, great timing.
Regards Alan.
