What did you do with the 3rd pic that allowed you to change the lighting from that washed out yellow back to white? I am very interested in what was done? It doesn't look like it was curves or color balance. It looks amazing that you could change the street lamp's yellow to white and still keep so much details.

I changed the white balance via a custom setting in ACR 3.6. What really saved me is that the WB is the same through out the picture. If it wasn't, it would have been a nightmare getting the right WB w/ different layers.
