I just got my canon s2 and im playing around with settings and i just snaped a few shots around my house. Im just trying to get the feel of the camera, once its not raining i will take some nice outdoor shots.

Welcome to potn! The fan is kinda neat. I'm not familiar with the features of that camera, but here's something that may be interesting to try. Take another long exposure of the fan, but near the end of the exposure manually fire the flash so the blades, stopped in motion, are blended in with the long exposure. /Dan

heheh I just did a shot of my ceiling fan the other night as well. I did one with a fast shutter and then slowed it down for one or 2 more shots. Maybe I'll try your tip there Canned.

I've also done a couple shots of my roof vents testing the different shutter speeds to get some blur but still show good detail with the fins :D

I like how 3rd one shows the refresh rate of the clock (i assume thats what it is?) after seeing that I went off and took some photos of my alarm clock :) (forgot to leave it still for a bit first to capture the time like you did, I think that works better). Will have to try the fan with the flash at some stage, that would look cool.
