I went to my parents house yesterday
it is a rather large block not far from the city (20 mins drive from the CBD)
the garden is all native plants, the backyard being a clothesline, shed and typical australian bush

these were sitting in the backyard

Alexandra's Parrots have really long tails - bit hard to tell fron the pic. They are nomadic so it may be possible to get them in Perth. They are also on the "near threatened" list.

Even though the tail is not that evident I'm convinced by the pink throat and green/yellow wings and shoulders its an Alexandras, more commonly known as Princess Parrot.
