Hello, left my camera on all last night, woke this morning and it was completely dead. I have read other owners saying they leave it on all the time, how come mine went dead :)
thanks

Perhaps you'd left in a position where the button was pressed so it had been focusing all the time? Leave mine on all the time, and never had that problem.

Very odd...do you have your camera set to sleep after a set period of time? It shouldn't matter, even if you don't, unless you were actively taking an exposure or focusing, but I'm curious, because it should go to sleep after a few minutes of non-use. With the 30D, this is no big deal, of course, as it awakens from sleep instantaneously.

I have noticed an amazing amount of battery life with the 30D...far better than my Rebel was.

Is it possible the battery has just gone through too many recharge cycles and has reached the end of its natural life? Was the battery at full charge when you left it last night?

10 minute charge and it's back alive? Something's wrong with the battery. I hope you have another one!
