Howdy all,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to upload images to the Powershot SD450. Using ZoomBrowser (Canon's software), I am only able to upload unedited images taken with the Canon camera.

I would like to be able to upload edited photos and photos not taken on the SD450 for direct printing onto a PictBridge printer. When I upload pictures onto the SD card via an SD drive, the images are not viewable and hence not directly printable from the camera.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to put images back on the card so the camera or a PictBridge device will see them, you need to observe the directory structure defined in the DCIM standard, so IMG_0954.JPG would go in your card's \DCIM\109CANON\ directory. And you'll need a card reader to do it.

Jon,

Thanks for your reply. I used my card reader to place files into the DCIM/Canon100 directory. But when I reviewed the images on my SD450, I couldn't see the image that I placed in that directory. Does the syntax of the file name matter?

Thanks again.

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but the number needs to come before 'CANON': DCIM/100CANON. Also, I don't know if upper/lowercase matters, but if you're changing the folder name anyway, make it uppercase.

Syntax matters very much. Folder has to be ###CANON not CANON### and ### needs to correspond with the frame number too.

Is the printer PictBridge only, or can you connect it directly to your computer with appropriate drivers? If you can install drivers on your computer, that's what I'd do rather than messing around trying to create an appropriate folder structure on a memory card in your camera.

It just so happens that I talked to Canon's tech support on Saturday about how to upload pictures to my S2. The one thing they emphasized was that it will only work with 100% unedited images. It's very possible that this applies to your camera, too.

(That's not to say there isn't some "unofficial" way to do it, but anyone trying to upload edited pictures will probably have some difficulty if they follow Canon's instructions.)
