Chico54t-
I think this was taken before I got the S 2IS. It was an Olympus, and I thought the composition wasn't too bad. I know the quality isn't as good as I'd have gotten with my new camera. So, I guess you could say I was limited by the quality of the equipment.

Some times its not just the quality of the equipment but who is behind the equipment that counts.
Saying that...if you have a passion for photography, stick around, there are some great photographers in this forum and you can learn alot.:)

Nice effort. If it could be better in my opinion, the surfer would have walked a few feet further to the left, and you'd have cropped the surfer on a 'third'. If you don;t know what I mean search google for 'rule of thirds'. Or search the forum here.

Think you're definitely on the right track though! :)

Thanks for the comment and cleaning up my picture. What software did you use, as it made a big difference.

I would have liked to have seen the sun but like the effect you are going for. Dimitri probably used photoshop to increase the saturation of the colours.

Go down to the pier and shoot through the pilings. I grew up in VA Beach and attended FCHS. You will get some great sunrise shots there. I still have some I shot in 1978.

Keep trying you are living in a great photo location.
